Low Frequency On-Board Transmitter
It is a part of the in-line tool and is intended for marking its location in the pipeline by means of emitted low-frequency signal.
Universal Recorder
Installed in the control (marker) points of the pipeline route to register the time of passage of the in-line tool by the emission of the low-frequency transmitter and/or magnetic field of the magnetic system.
Universal Locator
Monitors the passage of an in-line tool, detects and locates an in-line tool by low-frequency transmitter emission and/or the magnetic field of the magnetic system.
Monitoring the spatial position of the pipeline is one of the objectives of the integrity maintenance program. Landslides, ground movements in permafrost conditions, and seismic activity are just some of the causes of pipeline displacement and, as a result, the appearance of strain areas.
The XYZ surveys offered by NGP are performed by means of high-precision navigational equipment of its own design. The mapping inspection can be carried out as a part of caliper survey as well as during the inspection with the magnetic or ultrasonic inspection tools. As a result of the survey our Customers receive accurate data about the spatial location of the pipeline used, among others, for the assessment of the stress condition of the pipeline segment.
XYZ final report also contains coordinates of defects and features of the inspected facility, which makes localization on site during verifications and repair works easier.
